Commissioner Orlando Lopez

After moving to the City of Sweetwater in 1999, Orlando Lopez sought a position in the City of Sweetwater City Commission to help improve the community. He has sponsored various beautification and facade projects, and has worked diligently with the City's administration to update the City of Sweetwater Land Development Code.

Commissioner Lopez is no stranger to public service. He has volunteered at the Camillus House for the homeless, and has continued serving the community by participating and assisting with various charitable organizations to benefit youth and the elderly.

Commissioner Lopez was born in Miami Beach, Florida in 1968 and is the son of Cuban immigrant parents. He has two brothers and a sister. He graduated from Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in 1985 and attended Miami-Dade Community College.
